Abstract (EN)

The rapid advancement of digitalization has led to a profound transformation in marketing communications. In this process, social media has become one of the most intensively used channels by brands to reach their target audiences. Within social media strategies, which have evolved beyond the boundaries of traditional advertising towards a user-centered, fast-paced, and interaction-focused structure, animated advertisements have come to the forefront with their striking aesthetics and powerful narrative techniques. Animated content, with its dynamic and mobile structure, increases the likelihood of capturing users' attention during rapid transitions across platforms, thereby enhancing the perceptibility of advertising messages. According to Harvard Business Review (2021), the human brain processes moving visuals 60,000 times faster than static images, explaining why animation is such an effective tool in marketing communications. Research conducted on visually dominant platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube reveals that animated advertisements significantly outperform static ads in engagement metrics such as views, likes, comments, and shares. Moreover, animation not only captures attention but also facilitates emotional bonding through narrative structures, thereby strengthening brand perception and encouraging the viral spread of content. In this context, the visual dynamism, rapid comprehensibility, emotional intensity, and storytelling capacity offered by animated advertisements provide a substantial competitive advantage in social media marketing. Animation appeals to users' short attention spans, facilitating faster information transfer while simultaneously delivering an aesthetic and emotional experience that fosters brand loyalty. Within the scope of this study, the impact of animated advertisements on social media users is analyzed from a multi-dimensional perspective, evaluating their role in user engagement, brand perception, and content-sharing motivations. The findings demonstrate that the creative and strategic use of animation in digital campaigns not only enhances brand visibility but also plays a critical role in increasing user loyalty and strengthening brand commitment.
