Abstract (EN)

The security and curiosity phenomena that are primary impulses that the individual gained from an existential perspective, over time, these phenomena have been internalized within the state, and as a result, intelligence activities have emerged for the purpose of security. While pre-modern intelligence activities were built on protection from nature in the wild, expansion of living conditions and threats, as well as parameters such as technological innovations, led to the transformation of intelligence. During the Medieval Wars, the Napoleonic Wars, and the First and Second World Wars, intelligence activities restricted to battlefields and enemy associations continued to exist without being articulated by a large strategy. With the Cold War era, strategic intelligence and major strategic events involving long-term goals have begun to move in an intricate fashion, and include friendly elements and peaceperiods. Nowadays, in order for states to be able to continue their existence, it is necessary to attach great importance to intelligence activities as well as to great strategies. The great strategic phenomenon, which has a symbiotic relationship with the elements of strategic intelligence, has risen to the top in the international political conjuncture of the 21st Century. As a result, strategic intelligence activities, which are called as academic discipline, are integrated with the concept of war, and a great strategy concept, which is perceived as a potential protective shield towards possible threats as well as information about the desired situation. When we look at the states that are defined as modern and strong, it is seen that strategic intelligence, strategy and operation plans constitute a triple structure. In this study, through the literature review; the synthesis of the factors such as economic, military, technological, diplomatic, psychological, sociological had came together and the synthesis formed as a result of the analyses, that had been carried out, formed the road maps of the states was pointed out and the importance of the strategy element was emphasized. Strategies that the states have taken and applied from Sun Tzu up to now and the strategists who own these theories have been examined by following the importance and chronological order. Attention should be paid to protect against threats and war activities; intelligence, strategic intelligence, strategy and a great strategy are emphasized, all of which are part of a whole. Thus, this study entitled "Comparative War Theories and Strategists in the Context of Strategic Intelligence" was prepared to contribute to further work and to draw attention to the importance of strategic intelligence
