Abstract (EN)
This research reveals the relationship between trait anger and anger expression and anxiety with nicotine addiction. In the study, a sample was created out of 427 participants who are actively studying at Beykent University and who smoke, between the ages of 18-27. "Personal Information Form", "Trait Anger and Anger Expression Scale", "Beck Anxiety Scale" and "Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Test" were used to collect data in the study. Relational scanning model was used in the research. Pearson Correlation Analysis, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, Independent Groups t-test, ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis H Test were used to analyze the data. As a result of the study, a positive correlation was found between the anxiety levels of the participants and their trait anger, anger-out and anger-in behaviors, while a negative relationship was found with their anger control levels. While a positive correlation was found between students' nicotine addiction and trait anger, anger-out and anger-in behaviors, a negative correlation was found with anger control levels. In addition, no statistically significant relationship was found between students' anxiety levels and nicotine addiction levels. In the study, it was determined that students' trait anger states predicted their nicotine addiction, and other anger-related factors had no effect.
