Abstract (EN)

Enigma (muamma) which means, "difficult to understand, not easy to solve" in dictionaries, In divan literature, it conceals the name of a person or anything in prose or verse. Enigma, to the Turkish literature, from Persian literature has passed. In the centuries 15th and 16th Turkish and Persian poets who gathered around Ali Şir Nevâyî showed great refinements in enigma science. Poets such as Mollâ Jâmî, Ali Şir Nevâyî, Mir Hüseyin Nişâbûrî have developed the rules about the organization and solution of the enigma and have said that they will contribute to the formation of this species. The development of the enigma in the Turkish literature begins in the 16th century. Emrî Çelebî who is from Edirne, is considered to be a master. The development of the enigma in Turkish literature was realized with the annotation of the enigma examples in Persian literature. The names such as Bursalı Lâmî Çelebî and Gelibolulu Sürûrî contributed to the spread of this genre in Turkish literature by announcing the enigma treaties of Molla Jâmî and Mir Hüseyin Mu'ammâyî. In particular, the commentaries written by the Sürûrî on the enigmas of Mollâ Jâmî, Mir Hüseyin Nişâbûrî and Ali Ker. are important. In our thesis, the cited text of Gelibolulu Muslühiddin Sürûrî was prepared based on the existing copies of Şerh-i Mu'ammeyât-ı Mîr Hüseyin. The study was examined in terms of enigma and commentary. After giving information about the poetry and commentator, the general structure of the text and the annotation method were examined. This work of Sürûrî, in which the principles of organizing and deconstructing the enigma are explained systematically and the examples of these examples are given to enable the understanding of these principles, has an important place in terms of development of the Turkish literature.
