An analysis on assayrian rural architect: Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) Village sample

The Reason of selection of `Traditional Midyat Rural Architecture ` subject is; Because of the many structures that have historical values can?t standing till today ,and the some parts of structures being abdicated, neglected, ruined and about to be vanished which can stand still. With this study it was aimed to investigate, the supplies and the traditional contruction technics in practice used in residential areas in villages and to define plan types and to investigate the usage purposes of these houses? which are tend to disappear. The Studie?s other aim is to find the earliest samples of homes in the region and to try to display the traditions that reached today. It is expected that the investigation on Assyrian Rural Architecture in Midyat-Haberli ( Basibirin) Village sample can create support for more expansive investigations that can be made in the future.With this study that was made in Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) village sample, in Midyat Region `languages and religious city? which has a rich folk culture, when Assyrian as one of the communal colour and cultural tissue of us was took in hand, the structuring in Midyat Assyrian villages and the rural architecture plan typology that reflects social experience, by displaying contruction supplies and usage technics and to define the historical tradition that progress in rural architecture or possible civilization traces in old structures in region is the main aim of this thesis. The reason to support this thesis study, the villages that has ancient layouts and that are confirmed as suitable for sampling was analysed, thanks to this information Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) village?s (which was before belonged to Midyat and which is belonged to idil now) residental contruction was discovered.By making social, cultural and economical analyses about Mardin and Midyat, the physical factors like climate , topografia , scenery, construction products, contruction system and sociolagical factors like religion, traditions, family and relative relationships, jobs that affects the design of the Mardin and Midyat homes was took in hand and theirs reflections to the house typologies were analysed. All the same, it was discovered what is the affect of the typologies to the home architecture that were analysed as an important part of Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) village?s construction.It was profited from the methods of field survey and in addition to the writed sources , observation , interview, guide and source people were also used in determination of the subject. The houses of which traditional tissue is not spoilt, and could reach till today building surveys were taken and the form components that compose these homes, the relationship with each other were projected as a plan . By the reason of the analyses of the homes, there were prepared catalogues that compose the own identity card of the each home.According to the determinations that were made, because of the Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) village?s real owners immigration to abroad, the homes were abandoned or the new owners? being unconscious about the cultural awareness and being uneducated people, it is understood that, these homes got a rapid damage. It is required to fasten the protection efficiency in Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) village that reflects the regions?physicalconditions, cultural structure, the period?s life style to the place. Beyond the only architecture characteristics of the structures in the village, with a comprehensive study that includes every item that has got a cultural value from past to present, the requisition of integration of people that live in villages in the manner of socially and culturally was tried to be suggested withthis thesis study.Key words: Rural architecture, Assyrian Culture, Communal Transformation, Mardin, Midyat-Haberli (Basibirn) Village.
