The preposition teg in historical Turkish written languages

In this study, the preposition teg in historical Turkish written languages has been discussed in every aspect. The origin of the preposition teg, its morphological valences, functions/tasks, relations with other prepositions, and its affixed forms have been discussed for many years. In this study, these discussions were examined and seven different research questions were asked: i. Should we associate the "dek/dik" form with the preposition teg or with the preposition tegi? ii. How many "dek/dik" forms are there and what are the morphological valences of these "dek/dik" forms? iii. Are there sentences of "Tabġaçda yırıya teg oġuz ara yeti eren yaġı bolmış (ETY. I. 128 0. 5); ekin ara teg yaġı bolmış (ETY. I. 130 0. 10); yipün öñi teg üstün altın irinler (U. IV. B. 53); Şad teg anda bermiş. (ETY. I. 128 0. 6)" in other studies? If yes, is it associated with the preposition tegi or the preposition teg? iv. Is the form of tegi, which is generally used with the meaning "until, till" in historical Turkish written languages, used in the historical Turkish written languages with the meaning of "like"? What is the main difference between the two forms of tegi, if so? v. Is the form of tegin, which is generally used with the meaning of "until, till" in historical Turkish written languages, used in the historical Turkish written languages with the meaning of "like"? What is the main difference between the two forms of tegin, if so? vi. What are the structures to which the preposition teg is affixed? How were these structures translated to Turkey Turkish? vii. What can be said about the origin of the preposition teg? These questions are the basic questions of our thesis. In order to answer the questions, first of all, the place of prepositions in the classification of word types, terms used in place of prepositions, the issue of definition of prepositions and the term valence are emphasized. Then, the information about the preposition teg and the prepositions tegi, tegin and dek which are related to the preposition teg are discussed. In the next step, grammaticalization and affixation terms are emphasized and the structures to which the preposition teg is added are shown. Finally, discussions about the origin of the preposition are mentioned. In line with the theoretical framework created and the seven questions asked, the texts of the historical Turkish written languages were scanned and the material was collected. As a result of the material collected, both these seven questions were answered and new discussion questions about the preposition were raised.
