Abstract (EN)
Because the supply of agricultural areas, which is the most important input for agricultural production, can be very difficult to increase, production can only be achieved by increasing productivity. In this study, it was tried to determine the productivity levels of wheat producing farmers in Şırnak province and it was aimed to determine the factors affecting the productivity of farmers. For the purpose of determining productivity of wheat producers in Şırnak province 120 wheat producers was interviewed in İdil, Cizre an Silopi districts of Şırnak province and consequently data were collected. For determine farmer's productivity, it has been used constant return to scale output-oriented data envelopment analysis (DEA). In this analysis, cultivation area, seed, fertilizer costs and labour cost determined as input and production quantity determined as output. In this way it was calculated a productivity score for each farmer. After then, scores of farmers were used as dependent variables and the variables that were thought to have an effect on this scores were tried to determine with the help of independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA test. In this study, it was determined that the average efficiency score of wheat producing farmers in Şırnak province was 0.81 by data envelopment analysis. According to this result, it is indicate that production can be increased by at least 19% using same inputs. As a result of these analyses it was determined that examine of soil by the farmers, species of wheat sown, the education level of the farmer, the size of the land and agricultural tools had an important effect on productivity. It was found that farmer's support from agricultural technicians and membership of cooperatives did not affect their productivity. Another result of the study is that farmers who can't have support of agricultural incentives have higher productivity. Key Words: Agricultural productivity, Şırnak, data envelopment analysis, independent sampling t-test, one way anova test.
