Abstract (EN)

This study, Taiwan-Turkey 5-8. In this study, it is aimed to examine the differences in learning areas, sub-learning areas, achievements and structure of the primary mathematics teaching programs. Comparing the mathematics curriculum of Taiwan, which draws attention with its mathematics success in international exams, with Turkey is important in terms of determining the relationship between Taiwan's mathematics achievement and mathematics curriculum. Taiwan 5-8 for this purpose. The 4th grade mathematics curriculum was translated into Turkish from the translation program and analyzed in tables in the form of sub-learning areas, learning areas, and achievements by benefiting from the original program. Information about Taiwan's education systems and mathematics curriculum was collected by document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research techniques. During the document analysis, coding was created and these codings were explained with tables and figures. According to the results obtained from this research, although the mathematics curriculum learning areas of Taiwan and Turkey are similar, the structure, achievements and sub-learning areas of the programs are different. In addition, it has been concluded that there is a priority and posterior relationship between the achievements of Taiwan and Turkey, and that the students in Taiwan learn the achievements at the upper grade level at the same age as the students in Turkey. It is one of the results that Taiwan mathematics curriculum attainments are more intense at the 5th and 6th grade levels than at the 7th and 8th grade levels. Finally, the relationship of the obtained results with the literature and international exams has been evaluated and suggestions have been made to improve the Turkish mathematics curriculum.
