Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to investigate the physical values and physiological responses of young tennis players who play at university tennis team during tennis games and before the games Fourteen males which have the average 22.29±2.79 years old and play at university team were attended the study voluntarily. In the study, physical values height (height scale for 0,1 cm. sensitivity), body weight, subcutaneous fat thickness (Holtain 0,02 mm. sensitivity), circumference measurements, bone wideness measurements were measured and the data from these measurements were used to calculate fat%, fat weight, fat free mass and somotype of the players. For aerobic capacity 20-meter Multi-Stage Shuttle Run Test were used and then MaxVO2 value were calculated. To find relative power of the player's handgrip test were made and then to find flexibility of them sit-reach box was used. To find the physiological responses before and during the game Zephry Bioharness Heart Monitor were used. Heart rate values, core temperature, breathing rates and their maximum, minimum and average values were measured. Also, burning calories, physiological, mechanic and training loads were measured. The matching of the players to play a tennis match were determined according to ITN (International Tennis Number) of ITF (International Tennis Federation). Before the games heart monitors were worn and players warmed up for 5 minutes. Every match lasted only one set and 23-34 minutes. The sample size was determined according to G*Power 3.1.9.4 T-Test, Point Biserial Model Analiys. Data were analized with IBM SPSS Statistics 24. Descriptive statistics of all data were made and Pearson correlation analysis were made (p<0,01 ve p<0,05). The average somotype scores of the tennis players are 3,14, 4,68 and 2,47. The average MaxVO2 is 44,38 ml/kg/minute and the average heart beat of the players during the game is 154,36 beat/minute and the core temperature is 37,71°C. Breathing rates and work/rest ratio are highly correlated. Keywords: Tennis, Aerobic Power, Heart Rate, Physical Features
