Abstract (EN)
Throughout human history, housing has always been an important problem. Various solutions to this problem have been developed over time. Today, public housing is one of these solutions and is constantly being improved to both meet the need for housing and to increase user satisfaction. The province of Diyarbakır, like many other cities that received high levels of immigration after the 1950s, constitutes the sample of this study. To accommodate the growing population, housing production in Diyarbakır has increased significantly over time. In addition to the quantitative increase in housing production, it is of utmost importance to take into account the qualitative characteristics and to produce housing that meets the needs of the users and the needs of the time. This study aims to examine the changes that have occurred in three different TOKİ settlements built in different decades in Diyarbakır and to determine the perceptions and satisfaction levels of the residents of these settlements regarding the space and facade typologies. The study areas of the study are Şilbe 1st Stage TOKİ, which is one of the first mass housing projects in Diyarbakır and whose construction started in 1994, Memur-Sen TOKİ, whose foundation was laid in 2008, and Maliye Konutları 3rd Stage TOKİ, which was completed in 2020, attracts attention with its facade design. In the research, photography, architectural project analysis and analysis of space sizes were made, and five-point Likert-type questionnaires were used as data collection method. The survey data obtained were statistically analyzed in the SPSS program. In the field research, 385 participants were interviewed face to face and the questionnaires were filled out. As a result of the analysis, it was determined how the space and facade designs changed in three public housing estates built in different time periods and how these changes affected user satisfaction. The study revealed that the spatial and facade designs of Maliye Konutları 3rd Stage TOKİ were evaluated more positively by the users than the other settlements. The fact that these findings are based on theoretical foundations and supported by user data is important in terms of contributing to the literature. This study aims to be reference point for future public housing projects in terms of plans and facades.
