Abstract (EN)
Hospitals have a very important place for human life. Undoubtedly, hospitals are the first place that individuals apply when they get sick. Among the hospitals, medical faculty hospitals are affected by many criteria that closely follow the developments in medicine, such as economic, technological and similar factors that contribute to development. Emergency departments, on the other hand, are the units that are most frequently visited by patients and where each patient is accepted and treated unconditionally. Undoubtedly, the effective and efficient work of healthcare professionals, who are the main users of these units in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, is closely related to the architectural designs of emergency services. In this context, the spatial arrangements of emergency services play a very important role in increasing the quality of health services and ensuring user satisfaction. In today's studies, it is stated that the fact that the health personnel, who are the main users of these units, are not sufficiently involved in the design stages may cause significant negative effects on all users, especially healthcare workers, during the building use phase. For this reason, it is very important to determine how the space designs of the emergency service units to be planned in the future affect the users and what the design factors are needed by the users. In this context, within the scope of the thesis study, firstly, the design criteria of the emergency department of the hospital buildings were discussed within the framework of both the literature and design standards. The information obtained afterwards was determined that the Emergency Service unit of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, which has a very important place in the receipt of health services by the people of Zonguldak, was satisfied with the health personnel by making KSD (post-use evaluation).
