Abstract (EN)

Nowadays in the case of considering textile waste materials as ready-to-use raw materials and reusing them, cost effective and environmantally benign innovative products can be achieved. Within this scope 3 layered nonwoven fabrics containing trimmed fibres from blankets and mechanically recycled fibres as one of the layers laid down through needlepunching technology betwwen the others consisting of PP, rPET and mechanically recycled fibres are produced in this study. The products were subjected to the tests of mass per unit area, thickness, tensile strength and elongation, air permeability, tear resistance, static puncture resistance, abrasion resistance and bending rigidity. Thus the properties and performances of these products to be used as membrane protective geotextiles were assessed through standart test methods and compared to traditional ones' by using statistical methods. By reusage of trimmed fibres novel products which are environmentally benign and suitable for the intended use are gained.
