In the first part of the research, the position of iron image in Turkish society in the historical process is examined by making literature review. In the second part, the image of iron in Western art and the works of past artisans were examined by literature and visual survey. The third chapter is examined in two steps using ethnographic methods. In the first step, the position of the iron image in Turkish culture at the social level and in the works of art are examined. In our study, the art of Turkish blacksmiths were the subject of the art, examples of painting were also included and the meaning of blacksmithing for other societies was investigated. Iron ore and blacksmiths have been of great importance throughout history in many societies. In the prehistoric times it was seen that the blacksmith and iron ore were attributed to various sacrednesses. This is due to the fact that meteorites were the first iron use. In later ages, ironsmith and iron element lost their sanctity but they continued to exist among the main actors of the civilization situation. This situation gained momentum with the industrial revolution. It is seen that the ironsmith motif, which has an important place in all cultures throughout history and has a rich accumulation, has reflections in literary, visual, auditory and all arts.
