Abstract (EN)

Today, the poverty issue, which is severely disconnected from development; has surpassed the effects of variables such as age, region, gender, educational status, and can happen to individuals of all ages and statuses. Increasing widespread and deep poverty is not a problem of underdevelopment. On the contrary, in some developed countries, together with the problems in income distribution, they have become actively experiencing the poverty problem. However, the persecution and wars taking place in the world have made people who did not need help earlier, in other words, therefore become dependent on the help of others. Therefore, dynamism and transformation that will take place in the poverty perspective and strategies that can be followed in the fight against poverty have become necessary. The most basic institutions whose place and significance that participate in this change and transformation are undoubtedly non-governmental organizations. As organizations actively participating in long-term and active participation in finding solutions to social problems, NGOs have become important actors especially in the fight against poverty, which is a fundamental social problem, or in reducing the effects of poverty. In this regard, a field study was conducted using a qualitative research method within the scope of the thesis study. In the field research; Within the framework of social assistance effects, the effects of the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation on social assistance were discovered and interviews were conducted with 20 people who received aid from IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in Ankara. In the findings obtained as a result of the interviews, the rate of those who do not find the foundation's assistance sufficient is 40%. However, it is seen that the rate of those who responded that there was no change in education, health, and protection issues after they started to receive help from the foundation is 70%. Keywords: Non-Governmental Organizations, Social Help, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation
