Abstract (EN)

Women and children are among the groups that are most adversely affected by civil wars and forced migration movements. Compared to refugee men, women refugees are more negatively affected by the migration process in different ways. Exposure to physical and sexual violence, torture, being a victim of human trafficking, early marriages, being exposed to labor exploitation by working in uninsured jobs for low wages, language barrier and cultural adaptation problems are the main reasons that put women under stress due to forced migration. Inadequate access to health and education services, housing problems and discrimination are among other problems faced by refugee women. Today, the experiences of refugee women in the countries where they seek asylum have been the subject of many academic studies. This study aims to determine on which themes the studies on Syrian refugee women published in ULAKBİM, the national database, and Web of Science, the international database, between 2011 and 2023, and will offer recommendations to researchers on which areas can be studied in order to enrich the literature on this subject. Keywords: Turkiye, Syrian refugee women, ULAKBİM, Web of Science, Content Analysis
