Ecotourism practices in Turkey and their contributions to the economy

The aim of this research is to examine the practices in Turkey and its contributions to the Turkish economy of ecotourism, which has emerged within the scope of sustainable tourism, by addressing the sustainable tourism that has emerged in order to prevent the resource shortage that has recently emerged with the consumption culture. As the subject of the research, the concept of ecotourism has been discussed on the emergence of ecotourism as the latest trend in the field of sustainable tourism and its continuity today. The reflections of ecotourism in the Turkish region have been examined in order to have ecotourism in different regions and in many varieties in Turkey, to better handle the environmental conditions we are in and to reach more resources. Within the scope of the research, the concept of tourism, the concept of ecotourism, the characteristics, importance and activities of ecotourism, the development of ecotourism in Turkey and in the world, the effects of ecotourism on the natural environment, social environment and economic environment in Turkey are discussed. Finally, in the research, the contribution of ecotourism to the Turkish economy has been examined separately from the point of view. By performing a literature review in the research, printed and electronic journals, articles, books, etc. The theoretical parts of the research were formed by examining many domestic and foreign sources. The study of ecotourism emerging in the field of sustainable tourism is important in terms of contributing to the literature. Ecotourism is a sustainable tourism that has a worldwide impact and is practiced by many countries. In this context, having an impact in our country and handling it in the research constitutes a resource in the field of ecotourism in Turkey. The continuation of the ecotourism process is important in terms of being a resource for the research both for the present and the future. Considering ecotourism with Turkey and examining its economic dimension are important in terms of contributing to the literature. At the end of the research, academic studies and reports made in different ecotourism regions of Turkey were examined. In this way, it is aimed to approach the situation of ecotourism in Turkey in a holistic way. By examining the studies carried out in 10 different regions, the common points of ecotourism regions and activities in Turkey were tried to be determined.
