Abstract (EN)

Lentil, which is in the legume group, is an important food source with its rich content. In addition to its high nutritional value, it does not require fertilizer to be added to the soil because it is a good nitrogen binder and helps to reduce the fallow areas. Lentils have a great importance in terms of production and consumption in Turkey and have an important position in world trade. In this study, lentil harvested area , production amount and yield data for the years 1961-2021 were taken into account, and future predictions were made by taking into account the changes in the Box-Jenkins Method (ARIMA) time series. In this context; harvested area, production amount and yield FAO and TUIK benefited from UN Comtrade and FAO databases for foreign trade, that is, import and export data. As a result, it is predicted that the harvested area of lentils in Turkey for the next 5 years will first increase, then decrease, the production amount will increase gradually, and the yield will first increase and then decrease.
