Abstract (EN)
Turks accepted as the founder of Steppe culture have always been close to nature and attributed holiness to elements in nature. Plants which are also part of nature are important for Turks. It is the indicator of this importance that Turkish societies give name to plants using their subtle wit, analogy and observation ability. The purpose of our study which shows the plants important for Turkish societies and named "Comparison of Plant Names in Kazakh Turkish and Turkey Turkish in terms of Structure and Meaning" is to determine whether plant names in Turkey Turkish and Kazakh Turkish have similarities or differences in terms of structure and meaning by comparing them. For this reason, plant names in Kazakh Turkish that take place in our study are seperated into three as simple, derived and compound. This plant names seperated into three as simple, derived and compound are investigated deeply both structurally and semantically and by forming various titles in terms of meaning and structure plant names are classified under these titles. In addition to these, the proverbs and riddles comprised of plant names in Kazakh Turkish and periphrases formed for plant names are also included in our thesis. After that the plant names in Turkey Turkish and Kazakh Turkish are compared in terms of both structurally and semantically. As well as the names of plants in the study and the dictionary of the words that make up them are also included in our thesis. Meanwhile the method and techniques such as literature scan; the translation, classification and tagging of the sources in Kazakh Turkish are adopted. It is believed that our study will contribute to these two living Turkish dialects and the studies to be carried out in this field. It is also thought that this study will be a resource that will contibute both grammatically and culturally to these two Turkish dialects.
