Abstract (EN)
Concepts are expressions of how we perceive and make sense of the outside world. If these signs are together with humanity, they will never be expressed through language, which is a structure. Conceptual elements have an important place in determining this change and development in language. Conceptual studies not only show what kind of changes a term carries out formally and semantically, but also reveal the emergence of contradictions and how individuals make sense of the situations and phenomena that the concept meets, and this interpretation may vary depending on what. This used concept area, the formal and semantic dimensions of the devices have important contributions to our field. Of course, each individual and society will define and interpret a word with different dimensions, such as crime, in different ways, such as legal, religious and social. This difference has brought about the diversity in the concept of the word crime, which is the subject of our study. Moreover, the change in the context in which the words crime, sin, mistake, misdemeanor, which often have similar meanings, are used, is also very interesting. This remarkable diversity has also been the starting point of our study. In our study, it has been focused on whether there is a semantic distinction between words such as error, misdemeanor, sin, crime, which are included in the concept of the word crime, and which situations and actions are called crime, mistake, misdemeanor and sin. In this study, the origin of the word crime, its historical entry into our language and its usage area are discussed. In order to determine the oldest use of the word in our language and to determine its place in the historical course, starting from the Orhon Inscriptions, works such as Dîvânü Lugati't-Türk, Scan Dictionary, Compilation Dictionary, Comparative Turkish Dialects Dictionary and Etymological Dictionary were used. The Frequency Dictionary was used to determine the frequency and functionality of the word. Finally, the Dictionary of Proverbs and Idioms was scanned to determine the social and cultural dimension of the concept. In our study, on the axis of the word crime, the meanings of words such as error, sin, misdemeanor that we use together with this word, the meanings of other words that are directly or indirectly related to crime, sin, mistake and misdemeanor, their frequency of use, its development in the historical course, the etymology of the word crime and the meaning of the word in social consciousness. Examples of proverbs and idioms are grouped under various headings in order to determine the The data obtained from proverbs and idioms are presented in tabular form at the end of our study. As a result of these data, it has been concluded that the reasons for the diversity in the concept of crime may be: the context in which the word is used, the effect of cultural accumulation, and the individual's perspective on the situation or event he encounters.
