Abstract (EN)

Iconography, one of the most important branches of Art History, has been used since the societies first started to form. Reflecting people's beliefs, daily lives, rituals on painting, symbols and figures has become a means of communication and its effects have extended to the present day. Graphic design is a branch of art that includes topics such as conveying a message, creating and developing a visual, or turning an idea or thought into a visual. These two branches are intertwined with each other. In this study, it is aimed to explain the process of the application of iconography in graphic design and a process that goes back to the present. In the first part of the thesis consisting of a total of two parts, information about iconography is given and especially many animal figures commonly used in Turkish iconography are described in detail. In the second part, which covers the main subject of the thesis, the logo, which is one of the main tools of graphic design, has been defined and detailed information has been given about the adaptation of the iconographic figures described in the first part to today's logos. The visuals of the logos are used with their descriptions.
