Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to determine to what extent life satisfaction and stress predict sleep quality. The dependent variable of the study is sleep quality, the independent variables are stress and life satisfaction. Within the scope of the research, it was also examined whether the sleep quality of university students differed significantly in terms of gender, economic level, class level and place of residence. The participant group of the study consists of a total of 384 university students, 243 (63.3%) female and 141 (36.7%) male. The research was carried out with the relational scanning model, one of the general scanning models. "Personal Information Form" was used as a data collection tool to reach the demographic information of individuals. In addition, "Republic Subjective Sleep Quality Scale", "Satisfaction with Life Scale" and "Perceived Stress Scale" were used. Pearson Product-Moment Correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between sleep quality, stress and life satisfaction. As a result of the correlation analysis, there was no significant relationship between sleep quality and life satisfaction; It has been observed that there is a negative significant relationship between stress and sleep quality. Linear regression analysis was performed to determine to what extent stress predicted sleep quality. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that stress predicted sleep quality significantly ((R=0.020; R2=0.017; F=7.454; p<.05). To determine whether the sleep quality of the participants differed significantly in terms of gender, economic level, class level and place of residence. For this purpose, independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. As a result of the study, no significant difference was found between sleep quality and gender, economic level and class level variables. A significant difference was found only in terms of place of residence. It was revealed that the sleep quality of the students was higher compared to the students
