A research on credit card uses of university students "Dicle University example "

Credit card is a payment instrument that are commonly used in Turkey as well as in the World. The main aim of this study is to reveal and analyse the credit card usage behaviour of students within student profile and status of demographic perspective. Study group of this research formed up by university students (n=414) that continue their education in different faculties and departments at Dicle University. The aim of this study is to draw a descriptive picture of university students' card usage by considering the factors affects card ownership, credit card limits and card usage and spending features. The research data were collected by using the questionnaire and questionnaire form which prepared according to the 5-point Likert-type measurement method that includes demographic information and socio-economic characteristics of the students. The analysis of the gathered data was carried out with the SPSS 25 program and reported with the Chi-Square analysis. The significance level of the study was taken as p> .05 and p <.05. Results suggested that, there was no statistically significant relationships between demographic variables of the students, their socio-economic characteristics and their usage of credit cards.
