Abstract (EN)

Understanding the variables that affect sexual behavior is important in the process of designing therapeutic interventions and psycho-training sessions appropriate to the needs of individuals. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between the one-night relationship life and attachment styles and the loneliness perception of individuals. For this purpose, Hendrick's Sexual Attitude Scale, Three Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale and Personal Information Form were applied to 638 university students aged between 18-26 and who were selected using simple random sampling method. The universe of the study was determined as the undergraduate students of Haliç University. As a result of the study, a statistically significant relationship was found between the attachment styles of the students and one-night relationship experiences. Individuals with loosening attachment style were significantly higher than those with other attachment styles. It was found that the individuals with secure attachment had significantly less single-night number of relations than other attachment styles. Levels of loneliness were found to be significantly higher than the participants with other attachment styles. The mean number of loneliness scores of the individuals with a one-night relationship was higher than the others. It was observed that there was a significant negative correlation between Loneliness Scale total score and Sexual Attitude Scale subscale total scores. Participants with active sexual life and not having a one-night relationship have a significantly higher mean of secure attachment score. The distribution of the number of single-night relationships on gender was statistically significant and it was found that men had more one-night relationship than women. In males, it was determined that avoidant and anxious-unstable attachment score was significantly higher in women than in healthy attachment points. The study aims to contribute to future research in the field of sexuality. Keywords: Sexuality, Perception of Loneliness, Attachment Styles, One-night Stand, Casual Sexual Relationships.
