Abstract (EN)

Oral culture products that have existed since past times are the living cultural memories of the society. These oral culture products are formed in a certain tradition and continue to spread in a certain tradition. These products, which can be called narrative traditions, depend on the expression and transmission of the survival of these products. The examination of these products, which are the reflection of the cultural accumulation of the community, is in fact a study of the society. Because each of these products represents a common memory developing under the same regional conditions. The transmission of oral culture products comes true within the framework of the interaction and communication between the narrator, the listener and the narrative environment. This interaction also accommodates regional and social conditions. The study of folk narratives with Performance Theory, which requires a versatile examination, has led to the evaluation of narrative as a social event rather than just a text. So, the social environment and conditions that have been neglected until today have begun to be considered. The folk narratives compiled using the Performance Theory method in this study; will be considered as an alive, living element and examined in the context of narrator, listener and narrative environment and the problematic of Gevaş's narrative tradition will be evaluated within the results achieved.
