Abstract (EN)

This research, aims to identify the characteristics that parents expect from science teachers about the affective field from teachers who will lead the community in change and development and how they should be. The research was conducted with 320 parents of students who were educated in seventh and eighth grades in five secondary schools in Van; 80 students from Zeve Secondary School, 50 students from Bardakçı Secondary School, 60 students from 15 Temmuz Imam Hatip Secondary School, 60 students from Fevzi Sengüller Secondary School and 70 students from Mustafa Kemal secondary school. 5 Likert type "Affective Space Attitude Scale (ASAS)" and Semi-Structured Interview form were used on the expectation of Affective field characteristics from the parents of the science teachers who entered the course of the student. Content and descriptive analysis were utilized in the analysis of qualitative data. Parents expect science teachers to have a profile of teachers who are at peace with the ancient values of the society to be an example to their students, and to gain these characteristics by experiencing a verb rather than by explaining it to the students, taking into account academic success.
