An analysis and contextual transcription of the divan of Verdî Kâsim

Verdî Kâsım, who was a Dîvân poet in seventeenth century, made up his poems according to Islamic mystical idea. Such as other Sûfi poets, Verdî Kâsım also gave importance to meaning rather than manner features in his poems. In this work, his dîvân, it has been National Library in Ankara by number 06 Mil Yz A 2589 and 941 DVD?s number, was made transcription with Latin letters and examined on account of form and context features. This Dîvân includes only ghazals(gazeller) and histories(tarihler). With this study, dîvân of Verdî Kâsım manifested, his poems examined to aspect of Islamic mystical idea and literary figure of the poet is described basing on this ghazals.Key words: Verdî Kâsım, Islamic Mysticism, Dîvân Poem
