Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of web-based teaching on pediatric nursing internship student's self-confidence and anxiety in clinical decision-making skills. The sample of the study consisted of 61 students who received internship training in the Pediatric Nursing department at a nursing faculty. Those who have studied in the fall semester have formed control group, and of those who have studied in the spring semester have formed experimental group. There were 30 students in the control group and 31 students in the experimental group. Data were collected by sociodemographic data collection form and nursing anxiety and self-confidence with clinical decision making scale. The pre-post test unpaired group model was used in the study. In the analysis of the data, t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, correlation analysis, regression analysis, power and effect size were used. As a result of the study, it was found confidence scale and subscale total scores of the students who received the web based intern training program statistically higher than the total scores of the students who did not receive (p <0.05). It was determined that the anxiety total and subscale scores students in experimental group had more decrease in the scores of the control group students (p <0.05). There was a moderately significantly relationship between self-confidence and web-based education program, and negative relationship between anxiety and web-based education program (p <0.05). The web-based training program describes 17.8% of the change in self-confidence and 12.8% of the change in anxiety level. The study has a strong and moderate effect size in both self-confidence and anxiety. As a result, the web-based training program is effective in increasing nursing students' self-confidence level and decreasing their anxiety level in the clinical decision-making.
