Lean production systems and investigation in industry operations

Boom in competition conditions and changes in market conditions directed businesses to operate consumer oriented. Businesses have given up traditional production systems and switched to the systems required by todays competition conditions as they aim to fulfill customer demands fully and keep pace with todays competition conditions. This situation will increase businesses competition power and made production systems like lean production important which adopts customer oriented principles. With lean production systems adopts the operations oriented to eleminate any waste of money in production phase, it aims to establish value creating production phases for businesses trying to survive in intensive competition enviroment. Businesses which adopts lean production philosophy can spot any waste of money in production phase and can produce more effective products. Aim of this thesis is to introduce lean production systems and its applicability in industry businesses. Another aim of this study is to examine definition, properties, utities, functions and tools of len production. Espacially the application made on automotive market aims to help examining of the lean production systems at industry businesses. According to the aim of the study, first chapter gives general information about lean production. Secon chapter gives phrases about techniques and characteristics of lean production system. At the third and the last chapter survey has been conducted to reveal the applicability of lean production systems and the utilities that lean production systems can create for industry businesses. Surveys conducted has been analysed via survey analysis programme SPSS, and results has been revealed accordingly.
