Abstract (EN)

Livability and quality of life, are the main concepts in designing livable urban spaces for people. In this study, considering the fact that today's post-industrialist cities are not inhabitable urban spaces for people, ecological cities which develop in harmony and harmony with nature with an ecological awareness, which is a new paradigm in urban design and which offer livable urban spaces for the people, are examined. Ecological cities are sustainable and sustainable as the cities of the future, high quality of life and public welfare, sensitive to nature and ecological values, designing all components of urban spaces, sustainable transportation, sustainable water and waste management, renewable energy, green architecture, sustainability of land use is a new urban design concept that gives importance to participant, cooperation and partnership. Today, important initiatives are taken in the light of the goal of building livable and sustainable urban spaces in our country in relation to eco-cities where we have encountered successful examples in many countries of the world. In this study, one of the most important of these, Bursa/Nilufer Municipality Eco-City Project was investigated and the obtained information, data and documents were examined with content analysis method. As a livable and sustainable urban concept, eco-cities offer solutions to the problems that are now reflected in the urban ecological crisis. Keywords: Eco-City.
