The spiritual life in the period of adulthood and psychological value (Sample of Istanbul- Bakirköy/Güngören)

In this study, the relationship between how the individuals in their adulthood who reside in the districts of Güngören and Bakırköy in Istanbul perceive the spiritual life and the characteristics of their lives are examined. A total of 160 people, 109 of them being female and 51 of them being male, ranging from 25-40 years of age participated in the survey. A survey form prepared with 5 point likert system is used. In the analysis of the data obtained in the survey, t-test, Cross Tabulation and the correlation tecnique are used. Following the survey, an important difference is found between the significance given to the spirituality by the authorized persons residing in Bakırköy and the adults residing in Güngören. Furthermore, it has been founded that there is a negative relationship between the tendency to thesuperstitions and the interpretation of thespiritual life via religion; and a positive relation of the tencency to the superstitions by the ones who interpret the spiritual life dynamically. Findings obtained in the survey are discussed in the frame of field studies.
