Abstract (EN)

This study, titled "An Analysis of YouTube Creators' Masculinity Discourse Debates: The Case of the Men's Channel", examines whether these discourses contain the codes of patriarchal ideology by determining which themes and what kind of discourses are produced by men who discuss the difficulties of a phenomenon such as masculinity, which is not talked about much in the public sphere but constantly emphasized to be proven, on the Youtube platform. While discussing the difficulties of being a man of the community that calls itself the "Men's Channel", it is also looked at whether they have constructed a different kind of masculinity outside of discursive hegemonic masculinity with Ruth Wodak's discursive historical critical analysis approach. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that they exhibited a male liberationist approach that suggests that patriarchy harms not only women but also men, and that discourses are produced that construct complicit masculinity, which is a subcategory of hegemonic masculinity, in terms of not wanting to fulfill all the requirements of hegemonic masculinity but continuing to share in the privilege of being a man.
