Abstract (EN)

In this research, the stress levels and self efficacy perceptions of the teachers of intellectualdisabilities and the correlationship between these two were investigated. It was also aimedto search that whether the reasons such that working in an public or private specialeducation and rehabilitation centers, seniority and daily working times effect the stresslevels and self efficacy perception of teachers of intellectual disabilities, or not. This research was designed using the correlative investigation model. Participants of theresearch were the teachers who are working in public schools and private special educationand rehabilitation centers at a status of educators of intellectual disabilities in Eskisehir. Itwas gathered data from 126 participants whose ages differ from 24 to 57 throughout thiswork, 101 of them are females and 25 of them are males. However, inappropriate andempty ones are shifted after checking the works. Analysis were finally conducted with 91participants in total, with 70 females and 21 males. The level of the self efficacy perceptionof teachers of intellectual disabilities was collected by "Self Efficacy Scale" adapted toTurkish population by Diken (2004); the stress level was collected by "Stress Audit Scale"adapted to Turkish population by Day (1992) during that research. Data about seniorities, daily working times and the foundations of teachers was collected by means of "PersonalInformation Form" prepared by the researcher.Data analysis was carried out by means of "SPSS 16.0 For Windows". In data analysis, inaddition to descriptive statistics, t-test and Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient (r)were conducted. In the analysis, it was primarily defined whether the variances were homogeneous or not, with the help of Levene Test. The relevance rate was taken to .05 forstatistical analysis. The findings of the research shown that most of the participants were both at the high levelof self efficacy and stress, also it was defined that there was a positive and meaningfulrelationship between the self efficacy perception and stress levels of teachers of intellectualdisabilities. It was determined that there was no suggestive relationship between the selfefficacy perception and stress levels with seniority and daily working times of teachers ofintellectual disabilities statistically. It was also defined that working in an public or privatespecial education schools/center was not the cause of any significant difference on selfefficacy perception and stress levels of teachers of intellectual disabilities.
