Effectiveness of tablet computer instruction program (tacip) presented via audio-visual technologies on teaching the use of tablet computer to students with intellectual disability

The use of tablet computer skill which is prerequisite skill to get independent life skills and academic skills for students with mild and moderate intellectual disability. This study was planned from this point of view. The purpose of the present study is investigate the effects of Tablet Computer Instruction Program presented via audio-visual technologies on teaching the use of tablet computer skill. Four youths (one girl and three boys) with mild and moderate intellectual disability whose ages are between 12 to 16 years old participated in this study. The effects of Tablet Computer Instruction Program (TACIP) presented via audio-visual technologies on teaching the use of tablet computer to students with mild and moderate intellectual disability was investigated by using multiple probe design between the participants. Dependent variable of the study is using tablet computer and independent variable of the study is TACIP presented via audio-visual technologies. TACIP is an e-book material which was developed by author of this study and which was presented by least to most prompting procedure in this study. Findings of study indicated that all participants learned to use tablet computer by meeting criteria (%85). Also, it has seen that all participants were able to maintain the acquired skills and generalized it to other tablet computers and other settings. Social validity findings of the study were positive. Students stated that "it was marvelous to participate in this study" and parents said that "it was glad to us study with you".
