Abstract (EN)

Yıldızbaş E, 10-14 age group of male volleyball players on the effect of Bosu Exercises on Balance. Van Yuzuncu Yil University, Institute of Educational Sciences, Department of Physical Education and Sports, M.Sc. Thesis, Van, 2019. The Bosu exercises which supports specific balance training in volleyball cause not only strong core of athletes but also increase of high balance performance. It is aimed to investigate the effect of bosu exercises on the balance in 10-14 age group volleyball players in this study. In this study, 10 of the 20 volleyball players who practice volleyball three times a week regularly participated in volleyball training as a control group and 10 volleyball players participated in bosu exercises for 12 weeks in addition to their regular volleyball training. The results of the dynamic balance and dynamic and static core strength measurements which were applied before and after 12 weeks are compared between the groups and within the groups. All parameters measured in the study are presented as mean and standard deviation. The normality distribution is analyzed with Shapiro-Wilk Test. It is used Mann-Whitney U test in order to compare the experimental group and the control group. Besides, it is applied Wilcoxon test to determine the change before and after training. The statistical significance level is accepted as p <0.05. As a result of the study, average ATE values of experimental group are measured after the bosu exercises which are performed in addition to the volleyball training for 12 weeks. It is determined decrease in the average of the right leg ATE values from 46.5±11.1 to 38.6±9.4 and in the average of double legs ATE values from 40.1±6.2 to 32.8±7.6 (p<0.05). It is not determined any significant change statistically in the control group after the training programme (p<0.05). It is analyzed that total body plank duration increased from 33.7 ± 10.1 seconds to 54.0 ± 9.2 seconds in the average values of dynamic and static core strenght measurements. Besides, it is determined that the right leg plank duration increased from 10.9 ± 2.5 seconds to 25.2 ± 6.7 seconds. However, it is not determined any change in plank time of left leg. It is thought that the improvement of the dynamic balance is the result of balance exercises which are performed during bosu exercises considering the research results and literature review. Besides, it is thought that bosu exercises increase in the strength of lower extremity muscles. As a result of the evaluation of dynamic and static core strength tests, it is thought that bosu exercises which applied on core strength cause positive effects on the avarage values of total body plank and right leg plank times except for the time of left leg plank. KeyWords: Anthropometric Measurements, Volleyball, Core Force, Dynamic Balance.
