The socio-economical structure of Karayaka in the 19th century according to the temettuat defteri-tax recordings

In this study, Karayaka region's socio-economic structure has been put forward.For this reason, temettuat register which is in fund revenues in the Ottoman Archives of the Ministry of Finance were based on with the date of H.1256/M.1840 and with the number of 16146.My goal is to shed light on the socio-econom, launched the Tanzimat reform of income (temettuat) held by the taxation system to make a work based on register by temettuat in the 19th century's Erbaa.According to this temettuat register which is studied, contain information belonging to 26 villages. The number of households belonging to the villages, people names, nicknames, physical properties, real estate-affected area, cultivated acres of land, cattle and sheep livestock units, double and harness the animals, customs, beehive units, their work, and at the end with real estate and value of the animal, composed of the sum which was obtained by processing tables and graphs, such as dividend income and assets.In this study, by creating tables and graphs followed understanding of the subject methods may be effective. In addition to this, it is contributed to a better understanding of that period, by making a comparison between the current period and the prepared period.Keywords: Temettiiat Register, Tanzimat Period, Karayaka Village.
