Examination of jokes in Adana in terms of humor theories, context, function and structure

Joke is a kind of narration of Turkish folk literature. The tradition of narration of jokes continues extensively from past to present. Since ancient times, people have fun, have a nice time, to facilitate the work done and so on. It is seen that they tell jokes for purposes such as. Joke reflects the sense of humor of the society to which it belongs. Therefore, in order to perceive a society's view of humor and its sense of humor, it is necessary to examine the tradition of narration of that society. In order to better understand the jokes and the tradition of narration, studies on this issue are important. In this study, the jokes, which were determined to be explained in Adana, were examined in terms of humor theories, context, function and structure. With this study, it is aimed to contribute to the compilation and examination studies of paragraphs in Turkish world. This study, titled "Examination of Jokes in Adana in Terms of Humor Theories, Context, Function and Structure" consists of seven main chapters. In the first chapter, "Introduction", the aim, importance and method of the research are given. Geographical structure, population status, economic structure and historical structure of Adana, which is the research area, are introduced. Evaluations were made about the previous studies related to the research subject. Information about the concept of humor, humor theories and context-based folklore theories (functional folklore method, performance theory) is given in this section. The second part of the study is titled "An Overview of the Jokes and Theory of Turkish Jokes". In this section, the concept of clause and form, language-style and content characteristics of Turkish jokes are emphasized. At the same time, the relationship between the other types of jokes, classification attempts related to Turkish jokes and the use of the concept of jokes in the Turkish public are other topics discussed in this section. In the third part of the study, the jokes described in Adana were classified according to their types. In addition to type classification, the style, language-style (narrative forms, narrative patterns) and content (subject, time, place, types and personal staff) of the anecdotes are emphasized. In the fourth chapter titled "The Context of Jokes in Adana", the characteristics of the narrators, listeners and the performance environment are examined according to performance theory. During the compilation studies, besides the paragraph texts, the factors determining the performance were determined. Therefore, compilations were recorded with video and these images were evaluated and evaluated in terms of performance theory. Accordingly, the effects of clause narrators and listeners on the performance, external factors affecting the clause environment, the execution time of the clauses and the places where the clauses are evaluated are evaluated within the scope of this section. The fifth part of the study is titled "Review The Jokes In Adana In Terms Of Their Functions". In the fourth section, the functions of the anecdotes described in Adana are taken as basis. These functions are examined under six headings based on the paragraph texts and the collection records. In the sixth part of the study, the jokes described in Adana are discussed in terms of humor theories. The theories of humor taken into consideration during the examination of these anecdotes are the theory of superiority, the theory of incompatibility and the theory of relaxation. The elements that provide laughter in the anecdotes are covered within the context of humor theories.
