The AK Party's identity construction, its reflections on the present and its comparison with the identity construction in Ibn Khaldun's Muqaddima

In the world we live in, we have a number of identities that try to guide us at certain points. There are accepted concepts of identity in society with their own characteristic qualities. Under the leadership of the AK Party, the discourse of "Conservative Democracy" and the depiction of identity attributed to this new concept appear as an accepted quality in the Turkish arena. New formations in accordance with the democratic structure are a must in Turkish political life. Parties need to define and develop their political identities. Although different types of conservatism have come to the surface so far, the AK Party's depiction of conservative democracy differs from them at some points. The structure of the state, the identity structure of the society that should be formed in this state and the meaning attributed to all of them are of great importance in Ibn-i Khaldun's Sacred work, which is considered suitable for any era that does not have a temporal dimension. In our study, the basic parameters of this work adapted to today's Turkey were examined in the context of identity. The AK Party, which has marked its last 20 years, has been studied in comparison with the depiction of identity in the concept of "Conservative Democracy" and the depictions of identity that are being tried to be created in Ibn Khaldun's Sacred work, which is appropriate for any era and society. As a result, our thesis believes that the AK Party directs its political activities by being inspired by the bible, but at this point it has aimed to offer a number of suggestions.
