Akten Köylüoğlu's life and works

Akten Köylüoğlu born in 12 January 1939. Kutlar family is well known and well-established family also she is known by her cultural contributions to the society of Gaziantep.She has done her primary education in "İstiklal İlkokulu" after thatshe started "Gaziantep Kız Enstitüsü", she had to quit when she was in second grade in the Institute at the age of 16 she married Ömer Köylüoğlu of the well-known bussi-ness man of Gaziantep and she had 3 children and 10 grandchild.Akten Köylüoğlu lived her life traditionally, from early ages of her life she was raised by her family as a well-rounded individual and this led her to contribute a lot in the development of socio-culturual life in Gaziantep.Thanks to her works Gaziantep Culture gained re-cognition.In this work, Akten Köylüoğlu's memories and pieces of works has taken place in order to inform and understand about the past and today's Gaziantep. Also in this paper covers informations about; Akten Köylüoğlu's childhood , marriage , perspective towards life , advices to young generations, thoughts about women , Gaziantep's Hamam culture , weddings , condolence traditions , old houses , occupations and the event's that is heard from her elders by her; some of them based on true events and some of them are the stories taken place in the Gaziantep battle; those aspects tried to reveal the contribution to cultural life of Gaziantep by Akten Köylüoğlu.
