Abstract (EN)

The power of visual media has a great importance in the field of graphic design. The widespread use of the Internet, the popularity of social media and the advancement of digital technology have brought an era where video and visual presentations are consumed interactively. Video graphics is a powerful tool to attract users' attention, convey messages, evoke emotions and reach the target audience. The Golden Ratio is a mathematical concept and an aesthetic ratio commonly seen in nature and art. It refers to the design of objects and compositions in the correct proportions and is believed to have an effect on aesthetic perception. The use of the Golden Ratio in the design of cinema posters is important in issues such as visual balance, composition and effective transmission of meaning. In cinema, Stanley Kubrick is a director known as much for his film posters as for his films. Kubrick's film posters are among the examples of the masterful use of the golden ratio rules to attract the attention of the audience and effectively convey the subject of the film. This study examines how Kubrick used the golden ratio in his film posters. The aim of this study is to examine the graphic design elements in cinema posters by emphasising the diversity of the usage areas of the golden ratio in graphic design and to contribute to the development of cinema culture and cinema poster designs.
