Abstract (EN)
The subject of this study is the glazed pottery finds unearthed during the excavations in the Amorium City. These finds were found in the Inner Wall, Basilica B, TT and L areas in the Upper City part of the city and Church A in the Lower City between years 1988-2009 and 2013-2021. Amorium is an ancient city that was settled during the Hittite, Phrygian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Beyliks and Early Ottoman Periods. The first scientific studies in the city, started with a survey conducted by Prof. R. Martin Harrison in 1987 and continued with excavations between years 1988-1992. Between years 1993-2009, Dr. maintained by Dr. Chris S. Lightfoot. Since 2014, with the decision of the Council of Ministers, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Anadolu University is carried out by Prof. Dr. Zeliha Demirel Gökalp. Amorium glazed poterry finds, grouped according to the type of finds, consist of monochrome glazed, sgraffito, slip and Milet Ware pottery. Among the finds, monochrome glazed pottery in green, turquoise and yellow, consisting of 131 pieces, constitute the densest group. Sgrafitto ceramic finds consist of 58 pieces. In addition, 5 slips and 6 Milet Ware ceramic finds were also discussed within the scope of this study.
