Abstract (EN)

In ancient Greek mythology, Muses was believed to be the most famous goddesses. The influence of Muses' art was thought to be very powerful for both gods and people. For this reason, there were many myths showing the magical power of Muses. Because of the same origin of the words Muses and music. They had very close interactions and functions in ancient Greece. They were used as complementary to each other. Besides these similarities, these two concepts had very deep and philosophical attitudes that were not seen immediately. Ancient Greek thought tried to build the mythology of music culture and Muses on the same basis. The main idea here is the idea of moral excellence. For this reason, ethical and moral questions had an important place in the mythology of Muses. Understanding of godness and evil has taken a very significant meaning in the mythology of Muses. However the concepts such as good and evil, morality and immorality have been determined as metaphorically in these mythos. From the birth of mythology, the most extraordinary qualities and infinite powers were donated to the Muses, who descended from the god Zeus and memory goddess Mnemosyne. Considering that mythology refers to the goddess of memory as the Mother of Muses, the ancient Greek thought was aware of the fact that memory or, in broader terms, the activity of the mind, provided a basis for he existence and development of the arts and sciences representing Muses. The ideal of requlating morality with the help of art is determined in the characters of the ideal Muses, both spiritually and physically. These characters were tried to be expressed through symbolism. In this mythology, everything has been done to make his ideal attractive. The mythology of Muses shows a strong aeshetic attraction. But its volve, although very beautiful, in not in its appearance, but in the ideal of the ethical power of art. This thought excites man and creates legends that explain him first, and then creates philosophical theories that are unique in depth and scope.
