Abstract (EN)
In the studies of identifying and systematizing Arabian grammar principles one of the concepts that syntax scholars refer is the asl (fundament) and far' (branch) distinction. Grammar scholars used the difference between asl and far' in the studies relevant to language; however, they haven't published an independent work about the matter of asl and far'. In the first part of this study an outline about the asl and far' terms is given. Then, scattered information about grammar and syntax methodology especially based in the classical grammar books is revised and gathared together. In the conclusion part, the general view of the survey is tried to be reflected. In this survey, most of the references are consist of classical syntax works. Key words: Asl, Far', Grammar, Syntax methodology
