Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between social media usage and satisfaction of lawyers with some socio-demographic variables (generation, gender, educational background, income). The working group of the study consists of lawyers working in Mersin Bar Association in May and June 2019. A total of 394 lawyers, 207 male and 187 female, were included in the study. Whether the use of lawyers on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram differed by gender was examined by two-way ANOVA. It was observed that male lawyers had higher social media usage and satisfaction than female lawyers (According to T Test (t=2,401, p<,05)). It was observed that the social media and their use did not differ in terms of marital status and education level of lawyers. It was observed that social media usage and satisfaction scores increased in the entertainment dimension as the daily usage periods of lawyers' social media platforms increased. While lawyers prefer to use Facebook, Instagram and YouTube platforms in socialization dimension, Facebook and Instagram Platforms do not prefer to use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube platforms in entertainment dimension. It is observed that the rate of lawyers who do not use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube is higher than the rate of lawyers who use it. It was observed that the rate of lawyers who use Instagram is higher than the rate of lawyers who do not. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube Platforms prefer male lawyers more than female lawyers, while Instagram prefer female lawyers more than male lawyers.
