Abstract (EN)
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between father-baby attachment and the influencing factors. Materials and methods: The research was conducted between 1 January 2019 – 1 April 2019. The study population consisted of married men who had a baby of 6-12 months and were resident in Yunusemre district of Manisa province (N: 1385). The unknown prevalence was assumed as 50% for determining the sample size, so the min. sample size was determined as 301 in the 95% confidence interval at 0.05 error level. As a sampling method, the number of men who would be taken from each family practice was determined in proportion to the population. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 15.00 for windows package software. Descriptive statistics (percentages, mean, standard deviation) and Student's t-test were used to evaluate the data. Variables that were different in the single analysis were taken into multiple analysis. Results: The distribution of the scores of the fathers, which was taken from the B-BBÖ scale, was 73±9,1 (43-89). Fathers who are in upper social status, who have a regular working status, who are under 10 years of marriage, who have not blood relation to the spouse, who are married to the present spouse in the age of 20 years and older, and who have the first baby have higher total attachment levels and show more positive bonding behaviors. Fathers with babies under the age of 8 months and fathers under 40 years age have higher levels of patience and tolerance. Conclusion: Father-baby attachment is influenced by socioeconomic factors. It is thought that it is important to do studies related to the subject in different regions considering that it may also be affected by the sociocultural situation.
