Abstract (EN)
The recitative is a particularly important part of the opera. Its function is to facilitate the understanding of the subject. Transferring a lot of informations to the audience in a short time contributes to this. Of course, this is not only a matter information transfer. Knowing the pronunciation features of the language in which it is written makes it easier to understand this informations. The articulation technique of each language may differ. Improper application of accentuation also reduces the intelligibility of the language. Since one cannot find enough turkish sources on the art of recitative singing this has led to this research. First of all, many literatures in different languages about the birth and development of the Opera were researched. Visual and audio recordings were analyzed on the Youtube music platform. Literature review design with qualitative research method is the research method of this study. This study is limited to one example each from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. These examples consist of recordings found on the Youtube music platform. These recordings were analyzed and the difficulties and problems in performance were mentioned. The prescriptions were analyzed through note examples, and incorrect and correct applications on the notes were explained by giving examples.
