Abstract (EN)

This thesis was carried out with the aim of characterization, selection and determination of some agricultural characteristics of the western mediterranean chickpea populations. İn the research, agro-morphological characterization was performed for 236 chickpea populations sampled trhout the coastal and crossing zones in Türkiye. Days to emergence (22.3 days), weight of 100 seeds (39.7 g), time to 50% pod formation (84.7 days), number of days to maturity (104.0 days), height of first pod (19.7 cm), pods per plant (29.2 units), seeds per plant (25.8 units), seeds per pod (0.9 units), empty pods (3.3 units), the number of full pods (25.8 units), biological yield (279 kg da-1) and grain yield (104 kg da-1) in terms of agro-morphological properties among chickpea pure lines were significant. As a result of the technological analyzes made for the 60 lines determined as superior, the protein rate is 19.8%, the dry weight is 40.93 g, the dry volume is 83.32 ml, the wet volume is 173 ml, the wet weight is 85.76 g, the cooking time is 45.7 d, the water intake capacity is 0.45 g/grain, the water intake index average 1.10%, swelling capacity 0.40 ml/grain, swelling index 2.21% was determined. While According to agronomic characteristics, the first 7 main components for chickpea pure lines defined the total variability as 78.6%, by the technological seeds observations, the first 4 main components defined the total variability of 89.5%. With the thesis, a core collection of 141 pure lines was obtained.
