Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of autoclaving and microwave treatment on oil seeds such as Safflower, Sunflower, Soybean and Cotton on the effects of DM, CP digestion By-pass protein in rumen using in situ nylon bag technique. In this study, three domestic cattle with rumen cannula were used. Samples of oilseeds were treated with autoclave in glass jars at 1210C in 100 gr and microwave in glass plates at 50 g in 1000W power level for 2 min. Feed samples were then placed in 2,5 gr dacron bags and incubated in rumen for 6, 12 and 24 hours. In this study, autoclave treatment of the Safflower (AST), Sunflower (AYT), Soybean (ST) and Cotton seeds (PT) were not change the KM ratios, whereas the microwave treatment showed that the KM ratios were changed 95,00% to 98,88%, 96,15% to 99,95%, from 94,37%. 98,30%, 93,54% to 98,92%, respectively (P<0.05). Approximately 50% of the digestion is achieved during 6 hours of incubation in all samples in terms of DM digestion. At the end of all 12 and 24 hours incubation, except for 6 hours incubation, the highest value was found as ST in DM digestion, followed by AYT inu, AST and PT. (P <0.05). Dry matter digestion of Autoclave or Microwave treated AYT samples were lowered 23% for 6-hour incubation. Dry matter digestion of Autoclave treated ST samples were lowered 17%, and Dry matter digestion of Microwave treated ST samples were lowered 32% for 6-hour incubation. The HP digestion rates of the samples were found AST, AYT, PT and AS as highest to lowest levels, respectively. Autoclave and microwave treatment reduced HP digestion rates AYT (17% -24%) and PT (14% and 50%) for 6% incubation time. Protein digestion were lowered autoclave and microwave treated AYT (7%-10%) and PT (38,60%-28,92%) samples, respectively. At the 24-hour incubation, the autoclave application increased HP digestion of AYT samples, while it was found that these rates were decreased (11%) with microwave treated AYT samples. Autoclave and microwave treated PT samples reduced CP digestion by 9,7% and 30% for 24 hour incubation, respectively. At the 12 hours of incubation, the by-pass protein ratio was found to be at the lowest level (15.95%) and the highest level (74.52%) for AYT and ST samples, respectively. Autoclave and microwave treatment increased by-pass protein ratios for AYT (61% -90%), ST (20% -22%) and PT (27% -13%) (P <0.05), except for AST. In other incubation times, the autoclave treatment did not cause any increase for the by-pass protein of PT samples. As a result; Autoclave and microwave treatment may be an effective method in decreasing the protein digestion and to increase by-pass protein for AYT and ST samples. Microwave treatment is an effective method when we compared to autoclave method results. PT samples were effected only by microwave treatment. In this study, it was observed that the feed samples by-pass protein levels were changed based on autoclave or microwave application. This study should be applied on a larger scale production basis.
