Abstract (EN)

In our study we tried to introduce Imam Zufer who took the lead and became the second Imam of Hanafi sect after the death of Imam Abu Hanifa, the founder of Hanafi sect, and dealt with the detection and the analysis of his dissenting opinions in the area of worships within the sect. As a result of our study, we concluded that Imam Zufer was an independent mujtahid who had opinions peculiar to himself on both usûl (methodology of Islamic law) and furû (religious practices). Besides his being a hadith scholar, we realized that he was the İmâm of the Hanafis who most used comparison. In some sources, though, we witnessed that only one of his dissenting opinions in the area of worships was accepted in the earlier periods by the sect people, we stated that, on this issue, it can not be true to give an exact number for each period, and that, for example, it can be seven today. Key words: Imam Zufer, fıqh (canon law), worships, mujtahid, sect
