The literary world of Cemil Meriç as an intellectual

Cemil Meriç is an important intellectual of our life. It is possible to see him apply "Getting to know ourselves is the highest stage where knowledge reaches up" in all his life. Various articles, theses, and boks have been written about Cemil Meriç who says "I'm not included in anycommunity, I depend on the truth." These Works are generally related to the field of sociology. In our day when it comes to Cemil Meriç, his sociologist side springs to minds. However, as well as sociology, his thoughts related to Literature are quite a few in his books, writing sand conversations. In our thesis, we study on Cemil Meriç's thoughts regarding to Literature and Literature genres. While doing this, we included in our study the context of the words, their semantic world and his bright, intellectual questionings. We examined his thoughts about the relationship between Language and civilization. As the social sciences are interrelated, we touched upon his thoughts on sociology While examining his thoughts about literature.
