Expedition organization in the Great Seljuk army

Knowing how the expedition organization, which is one of the main dynamics of wars, is sometimes carried out by the armies that exceed hundreds of thousands, is of great importance in terms of understanding the cause of their victory or defeat. The growth or contraction of the borders of states is directly related to how successful military organizations are. It is clear that the reason for the Great Seljuk State played an important role in the history of the world shortly after its establishment was the matter of food and supply of the army. This study, in which the expedition organization in the Great Seljuk army was examined, consists of preface, summary, chronicles, research works, introduction, four sections, conclusion, bibliography and illustration section. In the introduction, the aim, scope and method of the study are emphasized. In the first chapter, it is stated how the army's budget is formed before and during the campaign, where the fighters are supplied from, how and by whom the army gathered for the campaign is inspected, what kind of order is taken, what are the measures taken against the negative situations encountered on the roads. In addition, expedition routes were discussed in this section, and some routes were mapped to provide a better understanding of the routes. In the second chapter, the transfer of weapons, food, fodder and other similar items needed by the army to the battlefield is discussed. In the third chapter, information is given about how the military encampment is determined, how the soldiers are organized in the camp area, and the tents. In addition, in this section, how the security of the camp was ensured, worship, family life, cleanliness and tidiness of the soldiers were explained.
